The Thesis:
My earliest memory is choking on a banana.
Which is true only as a memory. In reality, my earliest memory is letting go of a balloon and watching it pop as it hit the ceiling fan, startling me enough to choke on a piece of banana.
But all I really remember is the choking part.
The Self Interview:
Q: Why did I have a balloon?
A: My dad got it for me because I was sick.
Q: What was on it?
A: The balloon or the banana? (Rimshot noted.) Hahaha, Barney, most likely. I dont know if I remember seeing him because he was on the balloon or because I know that I liked him, but in this particular memory of mine, Barney exploded in the sky and wafted to the floor. Then I choked.
Q: Choked?
A: On the aforementioned banana.
Q: Why was I eating a banana?
A: Good question. Im allergic to bananas. They make my tongue itch. I dont even like bananas. Then again, this could lead to an interesting discussion on how my earliest memory led to a subconscious development of selective eating.
That, or I didnt even like the banana I was eating when I was eating it.
The Conclusion:
I must not have even liked the banana when I was eating it. Given the evidence, I also seemed to have harbored some hidden irritation towards the balloon. And the ceiling fan, for that matter. Can I trust this memory, or can I just trust the story that I tell people when they ask about my earliest memory?
In the end, there is no difference. When I was little, I let go of a balloon (possibly with Barney on it) and let it hit the ceiling fan, startling me enough to choke on a banana, which I was (and am) allergic to.
There isnt a soul in the world who can verify this.

Comments
Barney represents Satan, or perhaps demonic possession. A good thing he was smited so.
We shan't explore the meaning of the banana.

As long as you like them, I don't think it matters. xD And if there's ever anything wrong with them, just let me know!
